LPGA Legends Return to Eagle’s Landing: What to Know Before You Go

legends return to eagle's landing

Professional women’s golf is returning to a familiar Henry County course this fall. The LPGA Legends Return to Eagle’s Landing takes place October 6–9, 2026, at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, bringing 45 accomplished LPGA professionals together for a week of competition, clinics, and special events.

This year’s field brings some impressive numbers with it. The 45 players represent more than nine countries and have collectively earned more than 125 professional tournament victories. Even more fitting for an event called the “Legends Return,” approximately 38 of the 45 players competing in 2026 previously played professional tournaments at Eagle’s Landing during its original LPGA era.

Whether you’ve followed professional golf for decades or have never attended a golf tournament before, here’s what to know before heading to Eagle’s Landing.

What Is the LPGA Legends Event?

The Legends of the LPGA brings together veteran professional golfers, giving fans an opportunity to see some of the women who helped shape the sport continue to compete at an elite level.

At Eagle’s Landing, 45 LPGA Legends will compete in a 36-hole stroke-play tournament, with the opening round on Thursday, October 8, followed by the final round on Friday, October 9. Admission to both competitive rounds is free, thanks to event sponsor Jerel Verner Enterprises.

The 2026 tournament features its largest international contingent yet, with players representing more than nine countries. Collectively, this year’s field has earned more than 125 tournament victories throughout their careers.

But tournament week is about more than watching the leaderboard. The event also includes practice rounds, a Pro-Am, golf clinics, and opportunities to experience the game and the players from a closer perspective.

A Golf Tradition Returns to Eagle’s Landing

For this tournament, the word “return” carries special meaning.

Eagle’s Landing Country Club has a long history with professional women’s golf. The Stockbridge course hosted LPGA tournaments from 1992 through 2006, including the Chick-fil-A tournament during that era.

Many of the women coming back to Stockbridge this October already know these fairways well. According to tournament organizers, approximately 38 of this year’s 45 competitors played in professional tournaments at Eagle’s Landing during those original LPGA years.

That history creates an unusual connection between the tournament’s past and present. Visitors aren’t simply watching veteran professional golfers compete; they may be watching players return to holes they first played in tournament competition decades ago.

The Legends competition returned to Eagle’s Landing in 2023, bringing professional women’s golf back to Stockbridge and beginning a new chapter in the course’s LPGA history.

Who Will Be Playing?

Registration for the 2026 field remains open through September 25, so the final roster is still being completed. However, several notable players are already scheduled to appear.

Maria McBride

Sweden’s Maria McBride arrives at Eagle’s Landing after an exceptional 2026 season. McBride captured both the LPGA Senior Championship and U.S. Senior Women’s Open, giving her two senior major titles in the same year.

Angela Stanford

Angela Stanford brings another major accomplishment to Stockbridge just weeks after serving as captain of the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. A seven-time LPGA Tour winner and the 2018 Evian Championship major champion, Stanford also has plenty of history at Eagle’s Landing: she is a two-time winner of the Legends Return to Eagle’s Landing.

Trish Johnson

England’s Trish Johnson has amassed 29 professional victories during her career. Her accomplishments include Senior LPGA Championship titles in 2017 and 2021, and the 2023 U.S. Senior Women’s Open. She represented Europe eight times in the Solheim Cup and has an especially meaningful connection to Stockbridge: Johnson won the LPGA tournament held at Eagle’s Landing in 1993.

Leta Lindley

Leta Lindley returns as a major champion after capturing the 2024 U.S. Senior Women’s Open, one of four professional victories during her career.

Giulia Sergas

Defending champion Giulia Sergas returns after producing one of the most memorable finishes in the tournament’s young history. Sergas eagled the par-five 18th hole to capture the 2025 LPGA Legends Return to Eagle’s Landing title.

And visitors may want to remember that 18th hole when deciding where to watch this year’s action.

What to Expect at the Tournament

One of the advantages of attending a Legends event is just how close spectators can get to the action.

Unlike a sporting event where you spend the day in one assigned seat, golf gives spectators choices. You can select a favorite spot and watch several groups play through, or follow your favorite golfers from hole to hole throughout their rounds.

Tournament organizers recommend several holes for spectators looking for especially interesting golf. Holes 3, 6, 7, and 8 offer challenges on the front nine, while the entire back nine gives the field plenty to think about.

One of the best viewing locations is just outside the clubhouse, where spectators can watch players tee off on No. 10, as well as see the action unfold on the finishing 18th hole.

Hole 18 may be particularly exciting. The reachable par five is where Giulia Sergas made an eagle to secure her 2025 victory in dramatic fashion.

Follow Your Favorite Players

Thanks to Jerel Verner Enterprises, admission is free, and spectators are permitted to follow their favorite groups throughout the course.

If you plan to follow a group for an entire round, however, bring comfortable shoes. Walking a typical golf course can amount to approximately four to five miles.

The Legends also tend to offer a more personal spectator experience. According to tournament organizers, the players willingly engage and interact with fans. There is no designated autograph area, but spectators are asked to avoid requesting autographs while players are actively competing.

More Than Watching Golf

Tournament week offers opportunities to experience professional golf in ways that go beyond Thursday and Friday’s competitive rounds.

On Wednesday, October 7, the tournament hosts its Pro-Am, pairing amateur golfers with LPGA professionals. Even if you aren’t participating, spectators are welcome to come out and watch the Pro-Am beginning with its 10 a.m. shotgun start.

Wednesday afternoon shifts the focus to learning the game directly from the professionals.

Women’s Golf Clinic

The Women’s Clinic is open to women of all skill levels, giving both newer golfers and experienced players an opportunity to learn from LPGA professionals competing in the tournament.

Participation is limited to the first 60 women to register.

Junior Golf Clinic

Young golfers can get in on the experience, too. The Junior Clinic is open to children and teens ages 8–16 and is also facilitated by LPGA professionals competing at Eagle’s Landing.

Like the Women’s Clinic, participation is capped at the first 60 registrants.

Both clinics are scheduled for Wednesday from 4:30–6 p.m.

Spectator FAQs

Do I need a ticket?

No. Admission to the competitive rounds on Thursday and Friday is free, courtesy of Jerel Verner Enterprises.

Because Eagle’s Landing Country Club is located within a gated community, spectators should check the tournament website before arriving for the most current entry instructions.

Where do I park?

Spectator parking is free in the tournament’s designated parking areas. Overflow parking will also be available next door if the primary spectator lots fill.

Can I walk the course?

Yes. Spectators may follow their favorite groups throughout their rounds.

Keep in mind that following a group around a full golf course can mean walking approximately four to five miles, so comfortable shoes are highly recommended.

Where should I watch?

First-time spectators have plenty of options. Holes 3, 6, 7, and 8 offer interesting challenges on the front nine, while the back nine provides several opportunities to see tournament-changing shots.

For a convenient viewing location, try the area outside the clubhouse. From there, spectators can watch players tee off on No. 10 and see them finish their rounds on No. 18.

Can I meet the players or get an autograph?

One of the appeals of the Legends event is the opportunity to see the players in a more intimate tournament environment. Players often interact with spectators, but there is no designated autograph area.

Fans should wait until players have finished competing before requesting an autograph or interaction.

Will food and drinks be available?

Yes. Spectators will be able to purchase food, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages through Eagle’s Landing Country Club at its “Junction” area during the tournament.

What should I bring?

Plan for a day outdoors. Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and sun protection are good places to start.

Spectators should also remain alert while on the golf course. Golf balls, golf carts, uneven terrain, changing weather, and the physical exertion involved in walking the course are all part of attending an outdoor golf event.

What happens if it rains?

Tournament organizers will make every effort to play and complete each round.

If severe weather develops, players and spectators will be notified when they need to evacuate the golf course. Live scoring, schedule adjustments, and other tournament updates will be posted on the official Legends tournament website.

2026 Event Schedule

Tuesday, October 6 begins with practice rounds, followed by the Southern Social and panel discussion from 6–8 p.m.

On Wednesday, October 7, the Pro-Am begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start, followed by an awards reception. Spectators are welcome to watch the Pro-Am. The Women’s and Junior Golf Clinics follow from 4:30–6 p.m.

Competition officially begins Thursday, October 8, with a ceremonial first shot at 9:50 a.m. First-round tee times begin at 10 a.m.

The Legends return Friday morning for the final round on October 9, with tee times beginning at 10 a.m. An awards reception follows immediately after play.

See the Legends in Stockbridge

There aren’t many sporting events where you can watch athletes with more than 125 combined professional victories compete, follow them from hole to hole, and potentially meet them after their rounds – all without purchasing an admission ticket.

The LPGA Legends Return to Eagle’s Landing also offers something uniquely connected to Stockbridge. With approximately 38 members of this year’s field having competed at Eagle’s Landing during its earlier years as an LPGA Tour stop, the tournament connects decades of women’s golf history on the same Henry County fairways.

Whether you recognize every player on the leaderboard, want to introduce a young golfer to the sport, or are simply looking for a different way to spend a fall day outdoors, come see why professional women’s golf continues to find its way back to Eagle’s Landing.

Moseley Park, home to a 37-hole, PDGA-recognized disc golf course with layouts that can challenge experienced players while still offering plenty of fun for newcomers.

For a change of pace, visit Panola Mountain State Park, a 1,635-acre preserve with miles of scenic trails and outdoor recreation. The park is centered around its 100-acre granite monadnock, a protected natural area that supports one of Georgia’s distinctive and sensitive ecosystems.

Make a Weekend of It

Once the tournament champion has been crowned, there’s still plenty happening around Henry County. Turn your trip to Eagle’s Landing into a fall weekend getaway with events including the Fall Georgia State Fair, Muscle & Mystique Car Show, BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, Movie in the Park, and more.
