When Christy Deen opened Drip-Thru Coffee‘s Stockbridge location in 2016, she was returning to a community that already held a special place in her story. Stockbridge was where she had her very first job, making it a fitting place to grow her own business. Ten years later, the drive-thru-only coffee shop continues to live up to the description Deen gives it: “tiny but mighty.”
At only 135 square feet, Drip-Thru was designed with intentionality in mind. Its small footprint is part of a larger commitment to sustainability that extends to practices such as using recycled cups and making thoughtful decisions about where its coffee comes from.
Drip-Thru sources its beans from Café Campesino, a Georgia-based roaster in Americus that works directly with small farmer cooperatives in Guatemala and other coffee-growing regions. Every coffee served at Drip-Thru is fully Fair Trade, helping ensure farmers receive a fair price for their work long before the finished drink reaches a customer.
For Deen, knowing where the coffee comes from is more than a talking point. She has traveled to Guatemala twice to meet coffee farmers herself and has visited coffee-growing regions in Africa to better understand the journey from plant to cup. That commitment has gone even further: she now serves on Café Campesino’s board.

SDK’s Café & Coffee: New York Inspiration Meets a Rotating World of Coffee
Susan and Kamal Dorsainville saw something missing along Jodeco Road: a convenient place to sit down, grab breakfast, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. They also had another clue about what the neighborhood might appreciate.
Originally from New York, Kamal was frequently asked by friends to bring back authentic New York bagels whenever he made a trip north. Eventually, the couple decided Henry County shouldn’t have to wait for his next visit.
SDK’s Café & Coffee was born around the idea of pairing New York bagels shipped south with specialty coffee worth slowing down for.
Coffee lovers will also find something new to explore from one visit to the next. SDK’s works with private roasters to highlight coffees from different growing regions on a rotating basis. Each selection gives visitors an opportunity to experience how geography, climate, and roasting can influence the flavor of what’s in their cup.

The Awaken Drip: From Boutique Owner to Downtown Barista
Kenyatta Baldwin was already familiar with downtown Hampton before opening The Awaken Drip. For years, she operated a boutique just down the street. Her next venture brought something different to downtown: a coffee shop with a menu that isn’t afraid to get creative.
Visitors can, of course, stop in for their coffee fix, but some of The Awaken Drip’s most memorable offerings extend beyond the traditional café lineup.
One standout is the croffle — a croissant cooked in a waffle iron and transformed into a sandwich. It combines the flaky texture of a croissant with the crisp edges of a waffle for a breakfast or lunch that’s a little unexpected.
The shop also serves Curious Elixirs, bottled alcohol-free drinks designed to offer the complexity and experience of a cocktail without the alcohol.
