Tuesdays from May 7 through July 30, 2019* the city of Stockbridge, GA offers a food truck park experience with their Tasty Tuesdays series. The event takes place 5:30-9 p.m. at Clark Community Park. If you’re familiar with the structure, you’ll know there are a variety of delicious offerings to choose from. If you’ve never dined at a food truck park, you’re in for a treat! These tips will help you enjoy your time of food and fun in Stockbridge.
1. Come Hungry
Just because the food is prepared to take on-the-go, doesn’t mean the vendors skimp on flavor or portions. After you’ve enjoyed a meal or even mixed and matched foods from multiple trucks, leave room for dessert, as there is always a range of savory and sweet options at the park.
2. Follow the Tasty Tuesdays Facebook Page
The best way to stay current on Tasty Tuesday happenings is to follow the Facebook page. They provide information on which food truck vendors attend from week-to-week, the theme of the week, which usually determines the kinds of food to expect, and other updates.
3. Enjoy Musical Entertainment
Besides the fun of trying new food, there is also the fun of music and dancing. Bring a lawn chair to sit and enjoy your food then listen up as Art Terrell of local radio station, Kiss 104.1 often supplies tunes for the event.
4. Know Where to Park
Because the food truck event is a popular one, the parking spots at Clark Community Park can fill up pretty quickly. Overflow parking can be found in areas near the park, including Cochran Public Library and Merle Manders Conference Center. The best advice when it comes to parking is to arrive early but even if arriving early is not an option, the alternative parking lots are a short walk from the food trucks.
5. Grab a Seat
If you prefer to eat while standing on your feet, some vendors make high-top tables available. You can also bring along a lawn chair and spend time on the green or relax under the pavilion. The open playground area is an added bonus that quickly transitions dinner time to play time for kids.
6. Bring Cash
This tip can save you a lot of time. Although most food trucks have the ability to process card payments, carrying cash is always a reliable option and a convenient go-to if you and your loved ones are ordering from different trucks.
7. Take Your Pet to the Bark Park
Clark Community Park has a dedicated bark park where your dog can play on equipment and meet new friends. Pets are free to roam around the bark park but remember that they are not allowed to roam outside of this area.
A Diverse Flavor Palate
Sample everything from tacos to po’ boys and desserts during Tasty Tuesdays. It’s your chance to visit different regions all within walking distance. Whether you’re in town for business or you’re passing through with family, be sure to stop by Stockbridge Food Truck Tasty Tuesdays at Clark Community Park to enjoy delicious, diverse food offerings.
