Nash Farm Park
Nash Farm Park, a 204-acre historic site located in Hampton, is one of the annual Georgia Bird Fest sites—and for good reason. This beautiful park is brimming with a colorful variety of meadow birds—including Yellow-breasted Chat, Loggerhead Shrike, Bobolink, Indigo Bunting, Blue Grosbeak, Common Yellowthroat, Field and Song Sparrow—as well as an array of soaring birds.
Bud Kelley Park
Surrounded by lush woodlands, Bud Kelley Park in McDonough boasts a scenic 1.1-mile paved loop trail that is popular for birdwatching. If you visit during the winter season, there’s a good chance you will see yellow-rumped warblers and cedar waxwings.
J.P. Moseley Park
In Stockbridge, birders will enjoy exploring the 179 sprawling acres of gorgeous Georgian terrain at J.P. Moseley Park in search of native and migrant species. Stroll at your own pace along the 1.4-mile paved walking and jogging track behind the recreation center, where a multitude of different birds can be found. If you have a penchant for disc golf, the 27-hole championship disc golf course on-site takes you through peaceful woodlands alive with an array of aviary species.
Reeves Creek Trail – Memorial Park
Bring Fido along for a birding experience along the three-mile, pet-friendly Reeves Creek Trail in Memorial Park that leads to Reeves Creek. This scenic, winding trail is rife with birds galore and can be accessed from either Memorial Park or Flippen Road. If you access the trail at the Flippen Road entrance, bring an old book to exchange at the Little Free Library to make your visit even more memorable.

At the panoramic Panola Mountain State Park, birders can observe legions of feathered creatures at The Power of Flight Bird-Watching Area, a grassland located on South River. For an even more enriching experience, visitors can participate in a planned bird walk with the Atlanta Audubon Society.
Situated on nearly 1,000 acres in Locust Grove, the Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center features beautiful trails and forested wetlands where visitors can observe a wide range of birds, along with more than 75,000 native species of trees. At Cubihatcha, you can either take a self-guided tour at your own pace or enjoy a guided walk led by a staff naturalist.
More than a dozen different birds call Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary home, including emus, ostriches, peacocks, and more. While there, you’ll also encounter a variety of wild species while exploring the 250-acre, park-like sanctuary.
