The Gardens at Nolan House

99 Lake Dow Road, Mcdonough, Georgia 30253

Over three hundred years old, a Willow Oak tree overlooks the three Historical, Woodland, and Herb Gardens and the 1800s Nolan House. This massive 105 ft. tree height with a trunk’s circumference of 220 inches at a 4.5 ft. measurement is registered as a Landmark Historical Tree.

The three gardens surrounding the nineteenth century Nolan House reflect the creative and extensive labor, and upkeep of Henry County Master Gardeners.

Historical and Herb Garden plantings are of that time period, and the Woodland flora entice serenity and peace.

A mural, designed by local artist Steph Calvert, adds color and beauty to the area.

Monarch and Pollinator gardens provide wildlife feeding, and future plans are scheduled to implement a Children’s Garden where youngsters can touch and smell various plantings.

Visitors are welcome to leisurely stroll through the Gardens at Nolan House to enjoy the beauty, read the plant labels, and learn a bit of this time period plantings.
