If you like raving and running, we have some great news for you because there is now a combination of the two and it’s coming to Georgia. Running a 5K may seem a bit tantalizing, but when you mix it with loads of neon foam, strobe lights and dance music, it makes exercising that much more tolerable. Even if you’re not a runner, you can still have an awesome time at the Foam Glow 5K coming to Georgia In September.
The Foam Glow 5K is a one-of-a-kind experience that travels all over the U.S. to states like Arizona, Colorado, Texas, North Carolina and more. The 5K is an unforgettable (and super bright) experience filled with electronic music to get your blood pumping, colorful foam blasters, neon lights and an after party to celebrate this rave-tastic run (or walk) with your friends.
Lucky for us, the Foam Glow 5K will be hosting a run on Sept. 7 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia for free. Yup, registration is free until Aug. 23 so all you have to pay for is parking ($20) or catch an Uber. After Aug. 23, ticket prices will go up to $40.
Along the path, you will encounter three Foam Glow Zones, each with different colors: orange, pink or blue.
The zones have giant machines that shoot massive loads of (100% natural and non-toxic) UV foam at you as you pass by. In order to reach your fullest glowing potential, you must wear as much white as possible because the space is surrounded by high-intensity black lights that add brightness to both your clothes and the foam. You’ll start as a blank canvas and end the race as bright as ever.
Check-in begins at 5:15 p.m. when you can join the pre-race party with tons of high-energy music blasting from the stage to get you pumped for the run. You’ll also have a chance to win some free Foam Glow gear. The actual 5K starts at 8:15 p.m. with water stations throughout the course and at the finish line (so you won’t have to worry about getting super hot).
The fun doesn’t stop when the race is over; the real reward for your hard work can be reaped at the after-party festivities, where you can celebrate with music, dancing, black lights and more foam being blasted onto the audience from the stage. You’ll also get a medal for finishing the race.
Registration includes participation in the event, a mandatory race packet and a free Foam Glow t-shirt as a souvenir for your memorable night of sudsy, neon fun. The race packet can be picked up free of charge at the Academy Sports in Mcdonough the day before the race (September 6th) between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you choose to pick it up on the day of the race, you will be charged a $5 fee and are likely to suffer through super long lines, so it is advised that you go the day before! Make sure you wear the included race bib on your shirt because they won’t let you participate without it.
