DID YOU KNOW?
Pilgreen’s story began in Atlanta in 1932, when master butcher Ira W. Pilgreen opened the original restaurant at Fifth and Spring streets. Drawing on his experience as a butcher, Ira created a special steak-seasoning blend that remains part of the Pilgreen’s tradition today.
The business continued through three generations of the Pilgreen family before its legacy made its way to Lake Dow in McDonough, giving Henry County a connection to more than nine decades of Georgia restaurant history.
INSIDER TIP
Start with the Rip’s Rings. The thick-cut onions are hand-dipped in a secret seasoned batter, making them more than your average steakhouse onion rings. Then go classic with a ribeye, filet, or T-bone and add Southern-style collard greens or hoecakes on the side.
