Heritage Park Veterans Museum
The Heritage Park Veterans Museum is a family-friendly place to view artifacts, uniforms and vehicles dating from WWI to present. The museum is located at 101 Lake Dow Rd., McDonough, GA 30252, as visitors enjoy a free tour guided by veterans, who have extensive knowledge of the equipment and supplies contained inside the iconic red barn.
The museum is open Wednesday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and offers free guided tours that run about 1.5 hours.
As a veteran, your tour guide can offer a firsthand look into the life of the American soldier that go behind the history of the items but include stories about the owners of the items on display.
The tour also allows visitors to learn more about the array of uniforms, military vehicles, medals, dog tags and other artifacts on display.

Enjoying a Day at Noah’s Ark
Founded by Jama Hedgecoth, the original Noah’s Ark opened in 1978 in Ellenwood, Georgia. Named for the biblical Noah’s Ark, which represented a vessel of safety in the midst of danger, Jama’s Ark was built to shield children and animals from today’s floods of abuse and neglect.
The care of wildlife can be a lengthy and complex process depending on the species and the extent of injuries. If injuries are so debilitating that the animal cannot be released, it will stay at Noah’s Ark for the remainder of its life in as natural a habitat as possible.
The current facility of Noah’s Ark is in Locust Grove, Georgia sitting on 250 acres, training administration building, nature trails, and countless natural habitats for more than hundreds of animals on site.
Noah’s Ark is open Tuesday – Saturday from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, weather permitting.
Cost is $5 per person. Holiday Closure dates are Tues, Dec 24 – Wed, Dec 25.
