Rico’s Mexican Restaurant
Generations of family recipes are at the heart of Rico’s Mexican Restaurant in Stockbridge. The Olivares family has been part of the local dining scene since the early 1980s, and today, Rico’s continues that tradition with authentic Mexican dishes alongside creative house specialties. - Rico’s Ultimate Arrachera – Grilled steak topped with melted cheese and paired with chorizo, grilled onions, mushrooms, and zucchini.
- Texas Fajitas – Steak, chicken, and shrimp are sautéed with bell peppers and onions and served with rice, beans, tortillas, and all the fixings.

DID YOU KNOW?
Rico’s family history in Stockbridge stretches back more than four decades. Ricardo Olivares Sr. and his family came to the United States from Mexico in 1971 and initially opened a restaurant in Underground Atlanta. After relocating to Stockbridge, the family opened Guadalajara Restaurant in 1982.
When Guadalajara eventually closed due to commercial development, Ricardo’s daughter Chela continued the family tradition by opening Rico’s on June 6, 2002. The restaurant was named in memory of one of Ricardo’s sons, who served in the U.S. Navy. Today, Ricardo’s grandson, Ricky Olivares, serves as lead chef and carries the family recipes into another generation.
