Nash Farm Battlefield

4361 Jonesboro Road | Hampton, GA 30228
(770) 288-7300 | www.henrycountybattlefield.com

The 204-acre Nash Farm Battlefield was the site of the largest cavalry raid in Georgia’s history and a huge Confederate campsite. It is one of very few Civil War battlefields that remains intact and meticulously preserved so that visitors can step back in time to the final days of the Atlanta Campaign. Also onsite, the Nash Farm Battlefield Musuem introduces visitors to a life at Nash Farm in the 1800s and to its historic role in the Civil War. Artifacts recovered from the battlefield are on display as well as a Ladies Room that showcases different styles of dress during that era, and a children’s room that features a trunk filled with clothes for children to try on and see what they would look like had they lived in the 19th century. One of the most popular pieces in the collection is a 4’ x 8’ miniature of the center panel of the Atlanta Cyclorama. This painting was used as a model from which the larger one was painted. Museum hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by appointment.
