You’ll find that Henry County makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, located only 30 minutes from the attractions of downtown Atlanta and less than an hour from Macon.

Atlanta

You can spend days exploring metro Atlanta attractions. The kids will love the new Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Stone Mountain Park and Six Flags Over Georgia. Take time for reflection at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Revel in visual beauty at the High Museum of Art or the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Macon

Venture south to Macon for the great historic city of the American South. Attractions include 10,000-year old Indian mounds, the largest collection of ancient African artifacts, the "Big House" Allman Brothers Museum and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.

In Between

Between Atlanta and Macon there is plenty to keep you busy. Stately Oaks, in neighboring Jonesboro, is that city’s response to the question, “Where is Tara?” Film buffs, don’t miss the little town of Juliette that served as the setting for the movie Fried Green Tomatoes.
