The Track and Amenities

Get ready for action – as one of several BMX parks in Georgia, Sandy Ridge BMX is home to a USA BMX-sanctioned track that promises to excite with a 50-foot starting hill, 800 feet of heart-pounding whoops, jumps, rollers and more and three paved, high-banked turns. And while the course is designed for racing, it’s open for free riding when not in use for a race or practice, allowing novice riders to hone their skills and seasoned pros to practice before striving for a win.

Races are held at Sandy Ridge on Saturday nights under the lights. Each race is grouped by age and proficiency, ranging from novice to expert. Registration is open for 90 minutes before the races start, so riders can arrive at any time during that period. The track plays host to state and DK Gold Cup qualifiers as well, where visitors can watch some of the best riders in Georgia showcase their skills. Riders of all skill levels can also take advantage of a number of regularly scheduled clinics during their visit. Led by Michael Porter, a Certified BMX Coach and A-Pro, clinics cover foundational skills and more advanced techniques to help riders improve their performance and have more fun on the track.
