Fall Festivals and Fairs
This immersive fall festival brings together locals and visitors of diverse backgrounds to enjoy the art, live entertainment and eats that the city of Stockbridge has to offer. Some of this year’s highlights include a Hispanic village and a children’s area. One of the best things about this fall festival besides the potential for a great deal of fun is that Bridgefest admission is free for the entire family.

Bear Creek Festival
2016 brings about the 19th year of the Bear Creek Festival, held in Hampton, Georgia. This family-friendly event features music, food, and crafts, along with fan favorites that include an annual car show.

Georgia State Fair
Dating back to 1846, the Georgia State Fair began as a means to promote the state’s farmers and agricultural interest in and around the state. It has grown immensely since its debut and has moved from its original location at Stone Mountain to multiple locations that include Atlanta, Macon and others sites before calling Atlanta Motor Speedway home in fall 2012. Entertainment will include a midway full of rides and games that allow you to indulge your inner child, petting zoos, pig races and helicopter rides among other exciting activities.

When it comes to the south, porches are kind of a big deal. Watch as performers throughout Downton Hampton transform local porches into their very own stage. Local music helps set the scene for a fun-filled day, where families can enjoy walking, biking and visits to surrounding pop-up artist shops.

Kiwanis Henry County Fair
For over 70 years, the Kiwanis Club has held its annual county fair. This year, the event will take place at Heritage Park in McDonough, Georgia. Visitors to the fair can look forward to a midway that includes fun rides and entertainment, a delicious assortment of foods and appearances from local celebrities among other activities that are fun for the whole family.

Locust Grove Scarecrow Village
Scarecrows occupy sidewalks and areas near the train viewing platform in historic downtown Locust Grove during the fall event known as Scarecrow Village. Families and businesses alike are encouraged to participate as they compete head-to-head for a first place prize along with bragging rights for the best scarecrow in a number of categories. These fun creations remain on display for visitors to enjoy during the weeks following judging.

Fear the Woods at Yule Forest
Fear the Woods opens just in time to celebrate Halloween all month long at Yule Forest. The newest addition to the ghoulish attractions of Fear the Woods is Pandemic, which sees visitors battle it out with monsters on a combat field. The horror fans in the family will enjoy visiting the haunted house and trail.

Walkin’ DEAD Tours
Speakeasy Bookstore offers fans of the popular AMC series, The Walking Dead a chance to view 14 different locations around the city of Hampton in which scenes from season 6 were filmed. A knowledgeable guide leads fans on this entertaining walking tour that is fun for all ages.

Attractions to Explore This Fall
Noah’s Ark Animal Sancutary
This one-of-a-kind attraction is home to several species of animals with various backgrounds that include those rescued or surrendered to the care of Noah’s Ark. You have the option of paying for a behind-the-scenes Walk on the Wild Side tour led by a member of the team, or simply making an (optional, but greatly appreciated) donation and embarking on a self-guided tour free of charge. Noah’s Ark also hosts special events such as the Camp Safari, during which you can interact with the animals of Noah’s Ark and explore their habitats before having dinner around a campfire and taking in the fall breeze under the stars.

Panola Mountain State Park
You can find great adventures year-round when visiting Panola Mountain State Park. Activities that include indoor and outdoor archery, Fall Color Hikes or bird watching are available from week-to-week, with special activities such as their Zzzs in the Trees overnight excursion taking place during fall. This event gives you the chance to climb trees with your loved ones and spend the night in the canopy as you take in a view like no other.

Jailhouse Brewing Company
As its name suggests, JailHouse Brewing Company is housed in what was once a city jail. Run by a husband and wife duo, the Hampton, Georgia brewery has a fun, down-to-earth feel that craft beer lovers will appreciate. Visitors can take a tour of the facility with the owner and brewmaster, known as “the Warden,” while enjoying samples of JailHouse’s one-of-a-kind creations. You can join JailHouse Brewing Company Saturday, September 10 for a party celebrating the release of their canned ale, Alibi! The event includes live music, a tour and a souvenir six pack of Alibi.

Atlanta Motor Speedway
